xmas home

so less then a week till santa comes..and i have done no
chrissy posts( or finished my shopping)! Xmas has certainly snuck up on me this year

On Christmas day a table is set beneath this beautiful old sequoia tree to celebrate Christmas dinner ...
a wreath of Boston ivy, decorated with ornamental cabbages and flowers hangs simply from her trunk.

photographed by sharyn cairns, styled by glen proebstel for country style australia ~ my scans

I love the rustic cottage on the property, which the family spends the summer in ... just gorgeous in it's simplicity.

gorgeous my agenda tomorrow to make a natural xmas wreath...x

Emerald room

so I'm going to do a week of all green interiors
that way we can all embrace the colour of the year

Black and white help to balance the green which could be way over powering on it's own...both glamourous and fresh
tomorrow i will do boho green living...x

Pantone's colour of the year is
Emerald Green

while not a huge fan of green it certainly takes a room to another level
fresh vibrant and a little bit of glamour...not for the faint hearted!!!

target='_blank'>Pinterest

while looking for pics for this post, there seems to be  a common thread to achieve balance and harmony
with emerald green You need the grounding  colours of black and white to pull this look together
the emerald green pops out to create a fresh visual delight
For a truly glamourous bold interior the use of magenta and gold takes a room to a whole other level

where will you be using pantone's colour of the year???
For those who need a simple low cost way of introducing this colour into your home, look no further
then your garden...big bold leafy foliage placed in a beautiful cut glass vase will get you the chic look
without effecting your bank balance!x

beauty

words

Quote of the Week

"Beauty holds my world together; it fulfills a need in my soul; it helps me survive. Beauty is my inspiration for my life and for my work. I find its qualities evocative, and always in its presence I pause, aware of the mysterious becoming visible."

 - Barbara Barry

we live in such a visual world of course we are going
to be drawn to all things beautiful

these 3 rooms remind me of a jewellery box: beauty glamour vintage goodies

beauty is in the eye of the beholder.x

In the heart of Slovenia, in the town of Ljubljana,  lies a little piece of design jewel: Lolita.
“Occupying the former warehouse in the central historic palace in Ljubljana, Lolita gives a tribute to a tradition of cafes and the richness of living on the crossroad where one listens to a variety of »truths« while brewing one’s own at the same time.” - Arch Daily
Is there really more to be said I wonder? Nah… I am just delightfully basking in the beauty and details of this commercial decor.

young girls beach pad

Quickly did this board up for my niece...who asked for a beach look
for her bedroom
She already has an existing white chest of drawers and side table and the pink round
rug which is in the mood board. The mirror she also has but hers is white so need
to spray paint that gold to add some pizazz...

by using bright sunny colours and jenny's artwork it gives the room that
beach style Charli wanted
...hope she likes it!

beach necessities

With summer fast approaching it's important to update the gear we take
to the beach...with me it's all about the look so here are some of my fav's
for this summer at the beach

these towels are showing up everywhere from mags, to shops! Why so popular?
Turkish towels/hamamas are a light weight towel, super absorbent and fast drying
all bonus's for when going to the beach and they get softer the more you wash....
still not sold on them... they can be used as a table cloth, throw, sarong etc
Super stylish

the bag i would look no further then the queen of beach gear --tigerlily

Tigerlily’s Abbaca bag is made from 100% hand woven abbaca in the most striking mixture of colours. Great sized beach bag or large shopping bag. $99.95.
Tigerlily’s Bahia beach bag it is a nice medium sized bag. It is made from 100% jute straw and lined with organic cotton- yum! $79.95.

tomorrow i will share some more key items for this summer to help you stay looking
fabulous on the beach...x
